John the Baptist knew who Jesus was. He’d known it since he was still in his mother’s womb. He’d witnessed the Holy Spirit descend onto Jesus. He had heard the Father’s voice affirm the Son. He himself had testified that Jesus was the Son of God and the Lamb of God. But when he was locked in Herod’s prison he had a moment of doubt. So he sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus about it.
Why did John have that momentary doubt? How did Jesus respond? What can we learn from it all? The Gospel of Luke: John’s Doubt (trinitybiblelynden.org/sermon_post/doubt/)
